"A Gift of Thistle" - Braveheart
So I decided that since I spend most of my time just sitting here while the guys are practicing on the piano and cello that I would bring my computer and blog a bit. I went and took some more pictures this weekend. I think i might actually be getting tired of taking pictures of leaves haha. I just need go do some hiking and get a little change in scenery.

"Walk in the Woods" - Jon Schmidt
I finally got my camera out today and went and took some pictures. I didn't venture far so I didn't get too many but I ended up sitting in the hammock. I looked up at the quaking aspens and just watched the leaves flitter in the wind. There's something about quaking aspens that I love. I think if I had to pick a favorite tree that would be it. They are my favorite in the fall when their leaves are golds and reds. I could smell the pine trees. I could hear the birds chirping and the river rushing by and nothing more. It felt so relaxing. So peaceful.

"I Love The Mountains" - Folk Song
This song is stuck in my head. I like the mountains when it's not freezing cold outside. Literally.
I am now at Aspen Grove. I just checked the weather. 29 degrees. Told you it was cold.
I'm sitting here on my top bunk bed. Which has no ladder. Or any real safe way to get up here. I am amazed that I have made it up here twice without dying. My bed really isn't made because that's too difficult. I know I can't really blame them for putting the short girl on top but really? Me being vertically challenged is not helping the situation.
I was going to say something and now I forgot. I just remember that it was something totally random. Oh yeah my roommate shared her chocolate covered cinnamon bears with me. That made me feel better.
It's been a very long day but it's been good. I actually got to work in the kitchen today and then we got to do "Glen" projects because we finished everything in the dining hall. We got to rake and sweep dirt and stuff. It was actually enjoyable. Maybe it had something to do with the sun shining. Or the fact that I haven't really been doing anything and it finally felt good to do some real work. I assure you it's not because I miss it.
My lips are sunburned. They feel hot.
I am really tired as you probably could tell. Hopefully if I live through the night I will maybe tell another story tomorrow. Because I know I have a funny one from today but I just can't seem to remember it at the moment.

"In the Mirrior" - Yanni
I don't want anyone to go into shock after reading this post. Please note that I did this by my own choice. Now behold what I did today.
This is me. With no make up. And glasses trying to cover it up. Just trying to give you a before picture.
Are ya getting ready? Because this is how long my hair was. I know crazy. I was so ready to cut it off.

Snipety snip snip!
I haven't had my hair this short since MIDDLE school. yeah, it's been a long time.
Woo it's short! But wait there's more!

Blonde! And it ended up shorter than it looks up there after layering and all that jazz. I know this are kind of horrible pictures but! I'm sure I will have better pictures coming soon.

"Strangers Like Me" - Phil Collins
Things that are strange to me now that I'm home.
-opening the silverware drawer and finding that all the silverware is the same
-a dishwasher that actually washes the dishes
-real carpet
-how warm it is outside
-how nasty the filtered water is
-how early my family goes to bed
-how distracting family wards are
-the fact that it's so warm already I have to sleep with a fan on
-how ridiculously windy it is outside
-when I wake up and find everyone wearing my clothes, jewelry and shoes
-I have a piano that I can pretty much play whenever I want to
-I can't fall asleep listening to Josh Groban anymore
-Having my own room
-not having to go grocery shopping or cooking for myself (don't worry I still help out)
-how dry it is: seriously people from Utah do NOT EVER complain to me about how dry Utah is.
-that my sisters are still in school and have homework

"You've Got a Friend in Me" - Randy Newman
I can't believe it's been 15 years since the first Toy Story came out. We have that movie on VHS and I recently watched it. So many good times. My mom pointed out the part where there in the car and they put in The Lion King soundtrack on cassette in the car and how real it was because we used to listen to it on cassette tape too.Well now 11 years after Toy Story 2 the final movie is out. We went and saw it today. I wanted to see it at midnight last night but I wasn't able to. No matter seeing it this morning it was just as good.
I remember when the critics came out and said that the last 30 minutes of the movie you just cry. Let me just tell you they weren't kidding. I can relate on such a personal level to what happens in the movie and like my mom said I grew up with these movies! I am emotionally tied to the story. Something that the other little kiddies in the audience, who weren't even born when the second movie came out, don't have.
This movie was also very intense on different levels. I was trying not to scream NOOO out loud in the theater. Kaleen kept saying, "I can't believe that's rated G! That is not a kid's movie!" But it is, and it is one of the best kid movies out there.
It's sad to say that it is over but I think the way the movie ended I wouldn't have wanted it the any other way. To infinity and beyond!

"Over My Head" - The Fray
You know I really have thought about blogging more. I guess I feel I shouldn't blog unless I have pictures to most or that I forgot to blog about so many other things I feel like I should just get caught up. But I want to do better about my New Year's resolution which was blogging more. So now I'm going to try and blog every day for the rest of the month. Wish me luck.
Today I went to the dentist, no cavities!!, and as I was laying there having my teeth cleaned I was thinking how awkward it was. I couldn't talk or answer any questions that the dental hygienist asked and there she is hoovering over me cleaning my mouth. I couldn't decide if I should look straight up at the ceiling and try to avoid eye contact or close my eyes. I decided that instead of having magazines there for you to "look at" while you're having your teeth cleaned they should just install TVs into the ceiling so you can watch while laying down. I think it would help with the little kiddies too. It would certainly make getting a cavity filled a more positive experience.

"Everything" - Michael Buble
I've decided to procrastinate doing homework and just blog instead. This last week has been filled with tons of fun. Last Sunday was Pi Day which meant lots of Pi parties. Even though I only had a little bit of pie I was so ready for it to be over. Way too many sweets. That night I was also told that my old bishop's wife had been diagnosed with cancer. She started chemo this week and I think so far so good.
On Tuesday my choir sang in a BYU devotional. If your heart so desires you can watch it here and go to the date Tuesday, March 16, 2010 and watch us sing. It's in the first 10 minutes. You can see me a couple of times which is exciting. But we didn't sound as good as we could have. But we will be having our end of the semester concert on April 13, 2010 in the Provo Tabernacle so that will be super exciting.
Wednesday was St. Patrick's day and nothing exciting happened besides that it was the first day that it was warm enough that I didn't need a jacket! Also, my friend Cameron flew to the Brazil MTC. He VISA barely made it in time. They thought he was going to have to come to Provo which would have been totally awesome. I would have tried to run into him at the temple or something. haha
Thursday was one of the most exciting days. This day went down in history. BYU Basketball made it past the first round of March Madness for the first time in 17 years! I know tons of people who got to watch the game in their classes. I watched the last part of the game on the computer. We went into double OT. I was freaking out I was so excited and we won! Fortunately I finished all my homework on Wed. so watching the game didn't put me too far behind on Thursday.
Friday was another exciting day. After the temple me, Hilary and Courtney decided to go heart-attacking. They did their previous and current bishop and I did my old bishop (the one that was mentioned earlier). We got all of the hearts cut out and written on and left on our way. It was pretty cold so we got all bundled up. Then we were bad and persuaded Rachel to leave her homework to come and join us. We did my bishop first and ran into no problems. The next house, not so much.
We pulled up to the house and thought they weren't home. So we proceeded up to the door and got about 6 hearts on before we heard a noise. Hilary said it was just her so we kept going. Then we heard a louder noise and we all just froze. Then the main light turned on in the house and we started running back to the car laughing. Their son had come and opened the door. We drove away down the street and waited about 2 minutes and then decided to go back and finish it. As soon as we pulled up again in front of their house the bishop and his wife opened the door to look at it so we booked it and decided to go to the next house.
We pulled on the street. This house was kind of tucked back so we were going to go send Rachel to assess the situation. As soon as we said that they pulled right into their driveway. We drove again and talked about what we wanted to do. We decided that we were going to go ahead and do it and if we got caught, then we got caught. Luckily we didn't and we put all the hearts up in the dark. We went back to the second house and finished it with no problems.
It was really cool to see all of their comments on facebook about it. It made me feel all happy that they enjoyed it because it was totally fun for us too. The 1st counselor in my bishop's ward even took pictures and put them up on facebook!
Now we only have 16 days left of classes. And this last weekend I passed the 1 month mark till my birthday which means less than a month till summer! I even got my first tan this weekend while I was doing my visiting teaching. Kaleen and I are having a competition to see who can get darker. So far I'm winning.

"Why Worry?" - The All-American-Rejects
A new semester has begun and I am wishing it would be over! Don't get wrong I love being at school and I love my roommates but I am ready for summer. I cannot believe how white I am. I cannot wait to get back on the lake and soak up some rays!
This is the first week of the semester that I have finally attended all of my classes. So far since the beginning of the semester I have had class canceled 3 times. All of my professors are pretty awesome. I think Stats will be the end of me. I find that sudoku is the only thing that gets me through that class. I am proud to say though that I have kept up on my homework and reading for that class. Woo go me!
I am super excited for choir again this semester. I have the most amazing choir director! We will have a concert in April in the Provo Tabernacle which will be totally awesome.
I am looking forward to the semester. I can't believe how fast time flies. We have already started talking about plans to live next semester and it still seems like forever away! This week I already started planning my final schedule :) I have once again ran into the problem of having a final on my birthday but I will endure!

"99 Problems" - Jay Z and Linkin Park
While I was home for my break I decided that I wanted to cut and highlight my hair. Well since mom had been sick we decided to do it a different way then we had before but we ran into a couple of problems along the way.
This is what my hair looked like before we started anything.

Starting to get everything put together.

Mom making the blue dye.

So this is where it all started. The color clumped and didn't highlight. Needless to say, I came out looking like a leopard.

But a very cute leopard ;)

or maybe a giraffe? Hmm ok so the thing is, my hair was spotted to say the least. :D Let it be known I was really that upset. Mom was a little stressed though.

We didn't know what to do. Since it was friday and I was supposed to be leaving on monday. So we decided to go back and get some more dye to fix my hair. We decided to use a cap this time but we couldn't choose a color. So we ended up buying the same thing that we had originally used so we had the same color and a cheapy one so we could use the cap. It really helped, but it didn't highlight. It pretty much just colored all my hair. the next few pics all look a little different because of the lighting, but the point is my hair went REALLY blonde!

see! no more spots! all better!

The new cut and color. This was taken with natural light, but it really was more of a yellow blonde.

Yup this is pretty much the color of my hair. But now that it has been about two weeks the yellowness has really toned down and it just looks blonde. So although we ran into a few problems, no one got hurt. After all it's just hair!

"Home" - Daughtry
well after being gone for a week I have a lot to catch up. Things I should have posted before I left. Oh well. There's no time like the present.
Well I finished my finals and now I am home! Everything went well. I didn't fail any of them. :) Rachel came and hung out with me my last night of the dorms because my roommate had already moved out. I think it was a little scary to see what she saw but she survived. :) I also got to go to Sheldon's graduation party, thanks for letting me come! It was awesome. After I got home friday I went to my friend's Lacey's house and got to see most of my friends which was way cool!
