"Locked Out of Heaven" - Bruno Mars

I'm sure by now you have figured out that if I haven't been blogging then there is nothing interesting going on in my life...or I'm too busy to blog anything.

Well since I'm not in school we can definitely eliminate the second option.

Sorry I don't have any interesting stories to share. Maybe I should have Kaleen do a guest post with the funny things her sunbeams say.

I think I might start doing book reviews. Of the books I've been reading.

Now I'm just rambling.

Here's some pictures of a sunset.

"Grease Lightning" - Grease

Happy Homecoming!

I wish for nothing more than to be in Provo right now. I woke up and realized that I would be missing the parade. They always came by our complex and we would t-shirts and candies and get to scream at half the people that I know. Then the Blackout game which I'm super bummed about. But at least I have my own black BYU shirt that I'll be wearing today.

This week we have had some crazy storms and a lot of rain. Which is great. We went a couple weeks without anything which was getting a little sad especially with how dang hot it's been. Huzzah though the windows are open and we've been in the 60s!

Back to the storms, Thursday night was crazy and I had this brilliant idea that I wanted to go chase the storm and take pictures. Of course after parking everywhere waiting nothing happened until we had to move to keep up with the storm. Kind of bummed I didn't get a lot of shots because the storm was moving about 25 mph. The one place I stopped to take pics had tons of street lights which totally messes up the light intake making it a lot harder to get a clearer shot of the lightning.

So Kaleen and I came home and then we had another wave pass over the house with tons more lightning. All I had to do was stand at my bedroom window to get the shots. I say for my first time and not really knowing how to do it, I got some cool shots!

"Photograph" - Nickleback

I finally managed to get frames up on my wall! woo! It's like the first time of my life I've hung something on the wall. I found this frame in a pair first at DI and loved them.
Then I found the three frames on the right and so I gots 5 frames and started thinking of how I wanted to put them up.
After much measuring and stuff I finally got them where I wanted to be.
This was an idea I found on Pinterest since I'm kind of going on a beachy them for my room.

I took all the glass out and just put my pictures right in the frames so huzzah they are done! And may I just say it's weird to have frames hanging on the wall above my head.

"Everybody Talks" - Neon Trees

I hope everyone had a good conference weekend. I have decided that it is so much harder to stay awake at home when the couches and blankets are so much more fluffier and comfortable.

Two important things to note.

One, we made a lot of cotton candy this weekend. A lot. But it's dang good.
Two, of course we all know about the BIG announcement about missionaries, woo! I just have to say that this is not an announcement from me saying that I'm going. No way jose. I have a lot of feelings about it. It's great and fantastic. However the responses are a bit wishy washy. But I don't want to get ahead of myself.

If you were watching you may have noticed that the camera panned on the audience while President Monson spoke. This guy became famous in the matter of minutes.

People have been taking his picture and putting captions on them. Hilarious.

Now the complications of this announcement have arisen. What's gonna happen with BYU freshmen?

Another problem: now all of sudden people are saying they can go on missions. Um Hello? You've been able to go on missions already! I see these 18 year olds on facebook that are like yeah going on a mission now! And I'm like uhh maybe you should pray about that?

Trivia: this guy is President Uchtdorf's grandson. He has an identical twin brother.
I guess this one came out small but it's funny. It wouldn't be an Uchtdorf talk without airplanes!

Pictures found on BYU memes.

"Flower, Gleam and Glow" - Tangled

I'm sure you didn't know but I can been crafty. Sometimes. Well I think I should get bonus points for my crafitness. One I am actually crafting and two I am actually accomplishing crafts that I pinned on Pinterest! Booya!

So this idea was one I saw a while a go. They took the flower petals from their wedding bouqet, dried them out and them put them into an ornament so that she could perseve them and I was like dude that's genius!

I had the opportunity to be a bridesmaid back in August and I had my bouquet and though that I should totally attempt this and may I dare say it turned out pretty darn cute.

The bouquets for the wedding were goregous! Everyone at the temple kept stopping to comment on them.
I am also awarding myself points for creativity. I had to travel back to Vegas with the flowers so my mom had the genius idea to put them in a bag with wet paper towels which proved to work. Then I came up with the wonderful idea to hang them using a pant hanger because I didn't have any string or anything. Awesome right?

Ta-da! Then I used the twine that was wrapped around the bouquet to make the string it hangs from. I'm crafty people!

"Ho Hey" - The Lumineers

Mannequins.

Have you ever stopped whilst shopping to ponder the haunting mannequins that are supposed to be modeling the clothes for you to buy?

Oh you haven't? Well please look at these pictures.

Mind you these pictures were taken in high fashion department stores.

Criss-cross applesauce? Spider web? Preggers? We'll never know.
Ok this picture doesn't even do justice. The one on the right is on the tippy toes but leaning over. Please try and attempt that because it's hardly possibly. It's almost like it's being hung. The other one looks like a cross between lunges and falling backwards while maybe even constipated.

Neon. They were a lot more terrifying close up.

I just no even know what to say about this.

I'm confused if that's supposed to be where the butt ends or if they just amputated the legs?

"Remember When It Rained" - Josh Groban

A couple of weeks ago we were having some major storms come through. We got caught in one as we went to pick up Meghan. It was seriously such a strange experience to drive into a flash flood.

The clouds were super black and of course the pictures don't do it justice.

These clouds were super freaky. They looked like a combination of a tornado and death eater exhaust. This is what we saw as we were leaving to pick up Meghan. It takes less than 10 minutes to drive to the school and back home.
This is after we got home. If you can see the gutter the water is totally over flowing.

The mountains are supposed to be right there. Obviously you can't see them. We had just picked up Meghan and were on our way back. As we were driving down just a few minutes earlier we could see the mountains just fine.

I don't know if you can really tell but this is looking down the road. The silver looking stuff is the rain hitting the road. We were watching it coming at us, watching the road go wet.

This is right when we hit it. Obviously we can't see anything ahead of us. Zero visibility.
I was fortunate enough to take some video while we were driving so enjoy the experience of what flash floods are really like.

"Eat Dirt" - Susan Justice

The other day I noticed that there were bugs in the dirt in the backyard. I didn't think much of it and just avoided them. Then today I went out back to do some spray painting and I looked at the dirt and there were these bugs EVERYWHERE and they were kicking up the dirt. Mom correctly identified them as sand wasps. I'm not kidding when I say there are all over the backyard.

Here is an educational video.

Our backyard is full of those little holes.

I told mom today that I didn't want to go out in the dirt. I was afraid of disturbing them and then having a Winnie the Pooh experience where they all gather together and come at me. I'll just leave them be for now.
