"The Roommie Love Song" - Missy Murray

It's Christmas Eve, the 12 day of Christmas. I have had the most amazing semester and I have had the most amazing roommates. My last memory is of Missy. She moved out and I'm very sad that she's gone. We have had some crazy, awesome, amazing, hilarious moments. Our last night with all of us together Missy and Breanna wrote a song and she performed it for us. It pretty much sums up our semester together.

I was almost in tears after this was over. Luckily I'll still get to see Missy because home is only a little ways away.

Thanks Missy for being an amazing roommate. I'm gonna miss you! Love you!

"Act a Fool" - Ludacris

On the 11th (Christmas Eve Eve) my roommates gave to me, the joy of celebrating Fools Day every first day of the month. So November Fools Day we decided to prank our FHE brothers. We had been over at their apartment and saw that they had some of the Bridal Guides that they have on campus and we were giving them a hard time about it. So we decided to decorate their doors with bridal guides.
It took all 6 of us like 3 minutes to get everything on the door and sprinkle hearts all over the floor. We decided to be risky and actually go around 11 the night before and we had like three different people run into us and start talking really loudly but luckily we weren't busted. Our FHE brothers thoroughly enjoyed it.

"Awake" - Josh Groban

Memory number 10: staying up late talking to Diane. We hardly ever go to bed without the other. One night we were at FHE and our bro Chase asked us if we had pillow-talk. Of course we do! Some of my favorite nights are the ones were I was falling asleep and then Diane would ask me if I was awake. I know I could hear her and then my reply would be delayed or I would never respond. After I would she would ask me what she just said and I would have to repeat it. If I couldn't then she would just say good night and then re-tell me in the morning. She is so patient with me. :)

"True Colors" - Cyndi Lauper

Holy cow are we really on the 9th day of Christmas? Hmm I don't think I'm ready for Christmas to get here so soon. Can we wait another week please?

My 9th memory is this youtube video. This is Pascal from the new Disney movie Tangled. He is a chameleon. He is ADORABLE. Me and my roommates have watched this video over and over and over again. Mostly just for his cute little laugh.

I went and saw Tangled with some of my roommates for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was so dang cute. I love it! It was better than I expected it to be. Take your little kiddies because they will love it. I got to see it a second time today. Loved it just as much as the first time. Hmm I just used the word "love" an insanely number of times. My bad. But seriously, such a great movie!

"Marry Me" - Dolly Parton

On the 8th day of Christmas my memory is when we proposed to some random person with Fabio. OK so she wasn't a totally random person she was a friend of Missy's sister but a random person to me. For those who don't know who Fabio is he is a model. This cardboard cut out is Missy's and we put a shirt on him to make him modest.

We had a hard time getting him in the car because of his large stature.

Hmm what a hunk!

The look on the girls face when she opened the door and saw him standing there was absolutely hilarious. Good times, good times.

"Soul Cake" - Sting

On the seventh day of Christmas memories we had cake! Errbody loves cake. No but seriously my apartment LOVES cake. We try and find an excuse to cake as much as possible. And let me just tell you that we can get pretty creative sometimes. Ok I should stop saying "we" because it's mostly Breanna and Missy. They are the most amazing cake bakers ever.

Missy made this cake for Breanna and Kristin's surprise birthday party. It was two 9x13 cakes with caramel in between and cream cheese frosting. It was AMAZING.

Breanna made this cute little cake for Kristin's birthday.

This is a cupcake from the Coco Bean. It's cake just in a different form.

We made this cake to celebrate the end of the semester.

Just look at this awesomeness. Three layers. Chocolate. Chocolate Cream Cheese frosting.

We have made more cake than this, I probably shouldn't be confessing this on my blog, but I didn't get pictures. Oh well here's to more cake!

"In Whatever Time We Have" - Children of Eden

On the 6th day of Christmas I got a visit from my friend Liz! Well okay this is the memory of her coming to visit but yeah. Liz and I go all the way to freshmen year. We have some great memories together. She took off a year from school and has been in Prague being a nanny for some family since August and is going to be there until June next year. She has had some crazy adventures and stories but it was so good to see her this week!

It was amazing that Liz coming home brought back reenactments of things from freshmen year. Like me sleeping in Shelby's bed. And Lava Lauren. I swear to you that there are these exact same pictures from freshmen year except just from different angles. Good times good times.

"Already Gone" - Kelly Clarkson

On the fifth day of Christmas FINALS WERE OVER!!! I took my last final today. Anatomy. I decided to end on a good note. 140 questions. 36 minutes. I rocked that test. 7 finals this semester. Granted I only had to take 5 during finals week but saying 7 just makes everything seem more intense. Needless to say I am exhausted but I am all packed and waiting for my ride to get here so I can go home. I shall be sleeping well in Vegas tonight!

Okay so that wasn't exactly a memory from this semester so I guess I share a real one now. Back in October Courtney, my pseudo-cousin, went into the MTC and the night before Rachel and I got to see her. It was great. She's now in Argentina preaching and teaching as missionaries do. I haven't heard from her since she's gotten there but I'm hoping that things are going well.

"Blah Blah Blah" - Ke$ha

On my fourth day of Christmas memories I share this one time at the beginning of the semester where we sat around talking about our grandparents. We talked about what they did for a living, what they were like. We found it slightly hilarious that we never talked about our parents or families just our grandmas and grandpas. From that moment on I knew that we would be best friends forever.

"Teenage Dream" - Katy Perry

On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me, Memory #3

Harry Potter midnight premiere. It was pretty much one of the most epic nights of my life.
Three of us were trying to finish the book before midnight.

Of course it wouldn't be Harry Potter if Voldy didn't come to join the party.

"No Work, All Play" - Hilary Duff

On the second day of Christmas I remember all those study times with Kristin for anatomy. Sometimes they got really out of hand. They had these models that we could check out and bring home with us. We had more fun then you think we could.

Missy decided to have some fun with us too.

I'm a two-eyed cyclopes!!*

We come in peace!

*That's for you Megs! ;)

"Pet Names" - Smash Mouth

So I decided that in counting down the twelve days of Christmas I would do my twelve favorite memories from this semester in no particular order. So today we start with favorite memory numero uno.

At the beginning of the semester we had a seventh roommate...her name was Sephera. She was our pet dragon. We had some great times together.
She was a very hungry dragon. She always tried to eat everything from the fridge and freezer.

Yesterday on our way to church we were just talking about how much we missed her and even considered taking her to go sledding with us. Unfortunately it would probably be bad for her health and we don't have any snow.

"Silent Night" - Hymn #204

'Twas the night before finals, when all through the college

The students were praying for last minute knowledge;

The textbooks and backpacks were set by the door with care,

In hopes that Christmas soon would be there;

The students were anywhere but snug in their beds,

While visions of scantrons danced in their heads;

Christmas break was getting close their grades were soon to be decided,

Some were wishing this dread feeling soon would be subsided.

When the sun rose over Y mountain there arose such a shudder,

The students jumped from their beds and started to mutter.

Away to the testing center and JSB in a jiffy,

as the students are thinking, "Heaven help me".

They started their tests and their confidence rose,

Until they got to question 149 and their hand in midair froze,

When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,

But vision of celebration, parties and ice cold root beer,

So happy and cheerful, so lively and quick,

Was crushed by the sound of the clock going tick.

More rapid than cougars they tried to finish,

As that so happy dream started to diminish;

The last bubbled was filled and a sigh of relief was heard

As the students handed their tests in and their minds were a blur.

The tests were graded by the professors and TAs with care

and the students sat their worried, biting their nails and unaware,

As the clock went buzzing, the students sat straight up in bed

and realized that it was all a dream and finals were still ahead!

Their roommates start laughing and encouraged each other to do their best

Happy Finals, to all and to all a good test!

"Provo, UT Girls" - BYU Divine Comedy

Greetings, loved ones. I should probably be studying right now but instead of blogging, obviously. I decided to share a beautiful gem with you today. It's a parody of "California Gurls" by Katy Perry. BYU's comedy troupe Divine Comedy made it so of course it's gonna be amazing. Please partake.

I find it hilarious that people have actually been offended by this. I mean seriously? If we can make fun of ourselves for it then I see no reason why people not of BYU should be offended. But oh well. I hope you enjoyed it! Now back to studying!

"Come Clean" - Hilary Duff

I believe that the most productive form of procrastination is cleaning.

We now have a sparkling kitchen floor. I think next we shall have spotless carpets.

"The Girl Next Door" - Blink-182

Well this is it. The last week of class and it's only 4 days! I can't believe that this semester is ending. It's happy and sad but ultimately I'm happy it is going to be over. I'm ready for some new classes but I am not ready for some of the other changes that are happening.

So some guy just came to do the door to remind us of ward prayer. I open the door and he looks at me and says "You're in the ward?"

What do you say to that? Uh nope I'm just opening the door of someone else's apartment? Or haven't you seen me at church every Sunday? I have no idea where he has seen me that made him think I wasn't in his ward.

Then he told me I could come to ward prayer in my pjs which I was wearing when I answered the door. I have had too many different experiences this week with opening the door. Maybe I should just leave that for my roommates to do.

"It Ends Tonight" - The All-American Rejects

It's over.

I was thinking of a couple of different songs that described how I was feeling tonight.
Bells of Freedom- Jon Schmidt
Breakaway - Kelly Clarkson
Leave a Tender Moment - Billy Joel
Time to Say Goodbye - Andrea Bocelli

The last couple of hours have been a blur. Kristin and I were just sitting on the couch and we just felt dazed. I can hardly comprehend what people are saying to me. I know they're speaking but I can't manage to understand what exactly they are trying to tell me. I didn't really know how much pressure and stress went into lab until it was over. I can't even remember how many hours I've spent studying for this final in the last week.

I feel like I should have been in open lab. Or at least planning on when I should go back to lab. It's so weird to think that I'm not ever going back. I feel like a major part of my life has just dissolved. It's weird.

I just realized that I won't smell like cadavers or latex gloves again. Or at least any time in the near future. Hallelujah.

I spent months worrying over this class. Worried about cadavers, time, homework, studying and tests for this class. Kristin's professor told them that they will either come out of this class loving it or hating it. I'm definitely loving it.

The final went better than the midterm. Hopefully my score is as good as I hope it to be. Kristin and I made cupcakes to take for our lab, because we knew that two guys would not bring anything for us Brady even said that for himself after lab. My friend Kaccee, as we were sitting outside waiting for our exam to start, said that when Brady finds out that that I had brought cupcakes he was gonna act like a 5 year old. I don't think she could have been any more correct than that. He got so excited that he could hardly talk. Then Daniel showed us his gleeking skills after the final was over. Brady and Daniel have been amazing TAs. As you already know I could go on forever and forever about them but I won't because this is already long enough.

As I said I loved this class. I have held, touched brains, spinal cords, muscles, kidneys, intestines, eyes, hearts, lungs and pretty much anything else you can think of. I really am grateful that I had to take this class. It has been an amazing experience. Hopefully I don't forget the 1,000+ terms I memorized. Now I just have to study for the lecture final!

"Home" - Michael Buble

So I have kind of failed the last couple of days in blogging but life's been crazy and I've been doing more important things with my time instead of blogging. I'm grateful for the time that I have had to spend with my family. The snow has seemed to have messed up plans coming and going but at least I'll be back in just a couple of weeks. Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

"No Sleep Tonight" - Tyler Bates

Today I am grateful for my first counselor's family. We had a Relief Society sleepover at their cabin, more like a mansion, last night. It was so much fun to explore the house and just get to know people better. Most everyone had seen Harry Potter the night before at midnight so we were all pretty tired which led to some great moments of hilarity and endless laughter.

The next morning some guys from the ward came up to cook us breakfast and they made green scrambled eggs, I didn't notice the regular ones until after I had finished, and pancakes. I grabbed a chocolate pancake and then sat down to enjoy breakfast. While in the middle of eating my pancake I noticed something red and I thought maybe it was strawberries or something and then I took a bite. It was bacon! So I asked around to see if anyone else had gotten bacon in their pancakes and everyone said no. After a couple of minutes one of the guys asked who got the "mystery" pancake. I guess I was the lucky one. Unfortunately I did not get a prize, lame.

After we got home Missy and I decided to continue the sleepover at home so we decided to move our mattresses into the living room and have a nap party. I think we might even sleep there tonight.

"Harry's Wondrous World" - Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Today I am grateful for Harry Potter. I know, I know what a weird thing to be thankful for but seriously Harry Potter changed my life. Kind of like with Toy Story I grew up with these books and movies. I can't believe it's ending. I feel like once it's over then my last piece of childhood I have is gone and I'll be forced to realize that I am an adult.

I just want everyone to know that I did finish book 7 before midnight last night with 15 minutes to spare. The movie was amazing, creepy, but amazing. After it was over just sat there going, that felt like 5 minutes! Two and a half hours later.

I am having a Harry Potter hangover today. I got like 4 hours of sleep last night but hey I'm a college student I should be able to handle it. I went to open lab today and Brady looked at me and asked how I was doing. I said super tired and he immediately asked if I went to Harry Potter which I replied with the affirmative. Then another girl that we were working with went to go ask Brady a question and he said no, this is important! And continued to talk about the movie with me.

Only 238 days till Part 2!! Not like I'm counting down or anything...

"My Old Friend" - Tim McGraw

Today I am grateful that my old roommate Laura could come over and have lunch with Diane and I. It was so great to just catch up and talk and we even had my other roommate Ari come over. I've been blessed with some of the best roommates and I'm glad that I am still friends with them.

"My Kind of Perfect" - David Archuleta

Today I am grateful for my anatomy TAs Brady and Daniel. I seriously believe that I was lucky enough to get the best lab TAs. I don't think that I would have learned or learned to love anatomy as much as I do if it weren't for them. I think I could have a written a novel every Wednesday night from stuff that happened in lab. I have never come away from lab upset or annoyed. I have always come away laughing my head off and loving anatomy. Today was our last instruction day in lab and I can honestly say that I am actually sad that anatomy is ending. I feel like there is still so much to learn! As we were leaving Brady kept telling us not to go, to stay! Then my friend Casey was like we should be facebook friends. Then Brady went on about how we should take a picture together and create our own group.

So many memories from lab. I could just go on and on. Like that one time when Brady told us that when they flushed the embalming fluid through the right common carotid artery everything came out the big toe.

Or that other time when Daniel meant to say he was sorry for not being very engaging when he accidentally said sorry I'm not engaged which then led to a whole semester long joke.

Or the time when I heard Brady coming down the hallway for the first time. I can't even describe what it was like. He had sent out an email before class started and when I heard him I was like yup, you sound exactly like I expected you to.

Or that one time when we ran into Brady and Daniel outside of class and they found out we were roommates.

Or that other time when we walked in and Brady was singing Phantom of the Opera.

Or that one time when Daniel told us he could gleek for a long time after rinsing with salt water and then told us he would bring salt the next week and do it. Then he forgot the salt.

Or those two different times when the lights just decided to go out randomly and everyone starts laughing and Brady is making weird sounds and tells everyone to climb underneath a desk before we can get the lights back on.

Or that other time when Brady kept getting so distracted in class because the Jazz had made a miraculous win the night before.

Or that one time when Daniel was trying to teach us how to remember tensor faciae latea and he imitated some sort of valley girl in the middle of NYC holding a latte.

Or that other time when we met Brady's summer roommate from Alaska in open lab. Then Kristin pretended to be Brady on a tour bus pointing out "Beary" and then made some comment in class about it and five us started cracking up and Brady just looked at us.

Or that one time when Brady was acting like Regis and said "Behind door number 3" and Kristin and I pretty much lost it.

Or that other night when Kristin and I facebook stalked them and found out that Brady knows how to yodel. That pretty much made my life.

Or that other time when Brady started class saying we're going to start with an opening hymn...happy birthday to Kristin!

Or that one time when Kristin and I were sitting outside of lab and Daniel walked up and sat with us and we said how we didn't want to be there and Daniel said he didn't want to be there either.

Or those few times when Brady had taken his gloves off and thought he had turned them right side out and then blew in them so he could put them back and immediately realized that he hadn't put them right side out which was apparent by all the nasty juices that just covered his face.

Or that other time when Daniel was teaching and this one guy in our class pretending that the rolling chair was a wheelchair and "wheeled" himself around the room and Daniel did a double-take trying to figure out what he was doing.

Or when Brady is always saying how Daniel is making up lies about things but in the end he's always right.

Or that time when Brady said he was going start his own anatomy business and said he would make up stuff using words that we aren't allowed to use on our tests like "Fangs".

Or that time when we were coming out of a review and we asked Tomco a question about Brady's embalming big toe theory and we didn't even make it out of the door when Brady came rushing in wondering what we were saying about him.

Or when I was taking my quiz today and Brady was walking around with two squirt bottles of the preserve stuff and we did that little dance number trying to figure out what direction the other was going to go and he pointed the bottles at me and told me to choose carefully.

Or that first day of lab when they told us to go around and tell about ourselves and bones that we've broken. We went through probably half of the class before someone said they had broke two arms and a leg or something and Brady goes "Now we're talking!"

Or that time when Brady showed up to class with a shirt that had a rib cage on it and he didn't even know that he was wearing it in lab.

Or that other time when we saw Daniel in the Homecoming parade on a cancer research float and then asked him about it in lab and he asked why we didn't get a t-shirt.

Or that one time when Brady "pinned" his own ear for the quiz and then asked if anyone needed to look at Number 5 close up.

Or that other time when Daniel was sitting outside the lab with us and asked us what he should pin and then continued to pin some of the things we told him to.

Or that time when we went to go take the midterm and they were telling us all the different ways that we could lose points and cracking jokes during the test. Then Kristin dropped her pencil in a pile of vertebrae and looked up to see if anyone saw it. Daniel saw it said that would be negative ten points.

Or that one time when we asked Brady if he knew what Tomco did with the homeless people in Seattle. He said yeah he asked her about it once and she gave him a look like she had already answered the question and so he decided not to ask any more questions. So no he didn't know what she really did.

Or that other time when Brady told us in class that he used to be an arborist and a gymnast.

Or that time today when we were going over repro and Daniel was going over female repro and when he walked over Kristin and I started laughing. He asked who had placed bets and we both raised our hands and then he asked who won.

Or that other time when we asked both of them what they wanted to do with their lives and Brady said he had no idea (he is like a super super senior) and then Daniel said that he wanted to open a family practice because he really just wants to be a Dad. I pretty much fell in love with Daniel after that.

So there you have it. I could go on and on but I think I already did. Kristin said there's no ways that words can come close to describe lab every week; you kind of just had to be there. Needless to say these are amazing, awesome, wonderful. Kristin and I think that we are their favorites. I am so so so so so grateful I was in their lab.

"Two Is Better Than One" - Boys Like Girls

Today I am grateful that Rachel and Rachel Brisson came over and hung out at my apartment tonight. It was pretty much a party having them over and they make me so happy. Life is never dull when we are all together.

"For the Sake of Our Brother" - Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Today I am grateful for my FHE brother. He drove us to the gingerbread festival, which was seriously amazing, holy crap. I'll have to post pictures after I get them from my roomies. I never knew you could make things like that with gingerbread, blasted the new Taylor Swift CD, answered/asked questions about relationships and even drove all the way into our parking lot to drop us off afterward even though we live close to them and we could have walked home. Oh man he his quite the character. I think the best part tonight was when he thought that the gingerbread festival was gone, because it was supposed to be at Thanksgiving Point but they moved it to Orem, and he started freaking out. I have the best FHE family.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin

Today I am grateful for rice bags. You know those ones that you heat up in the microwave? I think they are a little piece of heaven on earth.

Saturday, November 13, 2010

"Stay With Me" - Colbie Caillat

Today I am grateful for the opportunity I had to go visit my freshmen ward bishop and his wife. I went with Diane, Rachel Brisson, Kristie and Shelby. We heart attacked them last semester. She was diagnosed with cancer in March and we just wanted to see how she was doing. We spent like three hours just talking about life and catching up. She is such an amazing example to me. They both are some of the most gracious people I have ever met. I am so grateful that I was in their freshmen ward.

"Countdown" - Rush

I woke up this morning and decided that I wanted to read Harry Potter 7 before Thursday, which is the midnight premier of course. My whole apartment is going plus some. It's gonna be great. We decided to make a count down. Let me show you the awesomeness.
This is Dumbledore's beard. Every day we cut off another portion. So when he is clean shaven and Honor Code appropriate it will be the night of nights!

Anyway there are a couple of copies floating around in the apartment and I was thinking that I have been greatly blessed to not have any more tests before Thanksgiving break. And so it began. I have to read on average 127 pages a day. I've already started reading. I love Harry Potter.

Friday, November 12, 2010

"Heatseeker" - AC/DC

Today I am grateful for heaters. Without them I'd be dead.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

"Just a Dream" - Carrie Underwood

Today I am grateful for dreams. Without dreams life would be boring. Sleep wouldn't be as enjoyable. When I don't have anything to do in class to keep my attention then I would actually have to pay attention. Dreams have brought about some of the greatest inventions to mankind. Dreams allow us to escape reality, to imagine something better. We can dream of who we want to be, what we want to do. As my sister says, dreaming is free and I'm thankful for that.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

"Blue Letter" - Fleetwood Mac

Today I am grateful for letters in the mail. There's something special about getting the mail and seeing a letter with your name on it. Sometimes the "old fashion" way is the best way.

"Just a Test" - Beastie Boys

Today I am grateful that I didn't have a test looming over my head to study for. I feel like that's all I do. Test, after test, after test. I think I have spent more time in the testing center than is normal. I don't have homework I just have to study for tests!

I was looking at the testing center website to see how long the line was, for my own curiosity, and it was outrageously long. I'm so happy that my test was yesterday and not today. It would have been miserable to have stood in that line forever.

It was so nice to just lay on the couch. I really just typed cough...I think my subconscious is taking over here. To just talk to my roommates and laugh and have a grand ole time and not have to say, sorry I have to study. Here's to a night off.

Monday, November 8, 2010

"We Are Family" - Sister Sledge

Today I am grateful for my FHE family. I had hoped to write about how grateful I was for modern day medicine but apparently I only have a virus, even though I have fluid in my lungs?, so I didn't get any drugs...unless you consider fluids a drug. Anyway let me tell you my FHE family. They are pretty much amazing. I had to miss FHE tonight to take an anatomy test. So I trudge up to the testing center in the freezing cold weather, seriously it's freezing outside...literally, and took my test. It was 100 multiple choice and I finished in 29 minutes. Booya! I came downstairs and there is a ledge where people leave notes for people who have taken tests. I always kind of scan over it to see if there could possible be anything for me and tonight I figured there wouldn't be any because none of my friends had been in the testing center before me. But lo and behold look what I found.

Not only did I get a note but they left me candy canes. Yeah, they're pretty much amazing like that. So then I come downstairs and find that the computers are down so I didn't find out what I got on my test. Ugh. So I call them up and we decided to go hang out together. When we got home I checked my score online and I got a 92%!!!! Then I found out that our FHE brother let us borrow Toy Story 3 tonight to watch. And I found out that I got 15% added to a test from last week. I looooooove curves so much. And I found out it's supposed to snow this week. Life is pretty much amazing right now. I love my family. All is well.

"Grateful" - Paul Cardall

So like back in June I am making to the goal to blog every day. Except, since this is November, every day I am going to write about something that I am thankful for. I know everyone gets all flustered when people start listening to Christmas music early, I find nothing wrong with that, because they think that we just skip over Thanksgiving. Well I think we can have both!* Thanksgiving is one of my most favorite holidays. It's a time where you get sit around with family and relax from school, jobs, whatever occupies our days. I remember years past of the many, many Bingo games we have played. Maybe that's something that I'll carry on with my family some day.

Today I'm grateful for fall leaves. We were walking to church and the leaves were everywhere. I knew I only had one day to enjoy it because tomorrow the grounds crew will come and suck them away. This is one of the reasons why I love Utah - fall! The leaves are yellow, red, purple, green, orange, pink even! I have a favorite red tree on campus, it sits right next to the sidewalk where everyone walks. Every time I walk past it I can here other people commenting on how gorgeous that tree is. But now it's been destroyed due to some crazy winds we've had. But I am still grateful for the other gorgeous leaves all around campus.

*I'm listening to Christmas music as I blog so there :P

"Hey Soul Sister" - Train

Back in September a friend from the ward, the amazing Katrina Fulkerson, took pictures of my apartment. We got the pictures back yesterday and we were so excited to see them and they turned out so amazing!!We get along so well together. We laugh together. We prank together. We look at bridal magazines for hours together. We eat cake together. We joke together. We hang out together. And we love each other!!

Now I wanna introduce you to all of my roomies!

This is Emily. She lived all over the place. She is funny, sweet, caring and has some of the greatest jewelry I've ever seen. She helped rescue a bird earlier this semester which brought about some great memories. She is an amazing actress and director. She is in a directing class right now and casted me in one of her scenes. I'm pretty stoked that she picked me! She's so much fun to work with.

This is Kristin. We spend a lot of time together. We are both Communication Disorder majors and Music minors so we have a lot of classes together. Luckily we have anatomy together so we have great adventures. We also found out that our parents grew up together and our grandma's still sit together in Relief Society, so that practically makes us cousins right?

This is Diane. You've already heard lots of stories about her. We spend way too many nights up late just talking about life. We are pretty much going to be best friends for life.

This is Breanna. If you saw my pictures on facebook with someone dressed up as Geselle this was her. She is hilarious. I don't think I have ever seen her upset about anything! She is always making me laugh. She is just such a happy person to be around. She started the Roommate of the Week in our apartment.

This is Missy. I recently found out that that is not her real name. Silly Missy for not telling us earlier. Missy is hilarious. She is always changing lyrics of songs to fit the situation. She also has introduced P-90X to our apartment. We love Tony...and Missy!

This is Me, but you probably already knew that. Life is good. All is well.

Now to show you some of my other favorites from the shoot. We had such a great time and they turned out amazing!!

"Why Can't We Be Friends" - Smash Mouth

I know most of my posts consist of Anatomy, because that's pretty much all that my life is these days. I'm actually sad that I only have 3 more weeks of lab, primarily because that means I won't have the amazing TAs that I have now. Kristin, my roomie, and I are in the same Anatomy lab and we have each ran into our TAs around campus but we have never been together. But just today we happened to see both of them while we were together.

Now before I tell you what happened let me just say that I have the best TAs ever. Like seriously. Brady is hilarious. Kristin likes to call him Regis because he sounds like he should be a game show host. This is fourth semester as a TA so he really knows his stuff. He says everything is so awesome, cool, amazing etc. Daniel is a fresh RM from South Jordan and this is his first semester as a TA. Kristin likes to call him Smiley because he is always smiling! He's really smart but kind of shy and it's funny to watch him teach us mnemonics. With the two of them together they make quite the pair. This last week in lab we were pretty much just laughing the whole time. I think we have too much fun in lab, more than should be allowed. Oh well!

So we're walking down the hall and I see Daniel and Brady walking towards us. They walk up to us and give us high-fives and asked us what we were doing. Then this took place:

Brady "You guys are friends outside of class?"
Me "Actually we're roommates..."
Brady "No way!! When we're you going to tell us that??"
Us "Uhh...."

We then proceeded to talk to them for a while before they had to go to a "top secret TA meeting". Oh man I love these guys so much.

"Ten" - Jimmy Eat World

It is now 10/10/10 at 10:10 PM. Woo!

"Friends Not Food" - Finding Nemo Soundtrack

Last weekend on our way back from General Conference my roommates and I decided to get some fish. We had had an empty fish bowl just sitting in our apartment and the plan was to get fish someday but we had all been pretty busy. So we figured right not then? We got a cheapy goldfish, Bruce, and a fan-tailed goldfish, Phibi - short for amphibian. Bruce died Sunday night and Phibi died Tuesday. Cause of death is unsure but we have our hypothesis. We knew we had a 90 day warranty so we decided to put the in the freezer to preserve them. Crazy I know; you're probably thinking why on earth would we do that? I don't really have a good answer...

Anyway we had been planing on going back and getting our new fish and Kristin was nice enough to do that tonight. She called me while she was there and there was a little mix up about return policy and we weren't sure on what we were going to get so we told Kristin so surprise us! She got home and she got two goldfish and a crab! We sat there thinking of names and decided on Sharkbait, Oo-haha and Cosmo the crab. Well after letting them sit there for a while Cosmo started attacking Sharkbait and pinching them. We decided that the sooner we got them in the fish bowl and fed them the sooner the better. We were all sitting there staring at the fish bowl and all of a sudden Sharkbait swam right up to Cosmo and then we all screamed.

Don't worry, no fish were harmed. Well from what we can tell. So we changed Sharkbait to CrabBait because we thought it more fitting. Cosmo's name doesn't really reflect his personality but we like it too much to change it. Hopefully these fish will live longer than our last fish. I'll keep you posted.

"Busy Guys" - Hans Zimmer

Life's been busy. This is the pretty much the first weekend this semester that I've been able to just sit at home and chill. I've started multiple blog spots and then never got around to finishing them. I blame it on anatomy.

Speaking of Anatomy I got to hold a human brain this week in lab and we also studied the spinal cord. I was so excited going to lab. I am never excited to go to lab. In lecture my professor spent about 30 min talking about the brain and how it relates to the gospel and everything like that. She's amazing. I love BYU.

This weekend was homecoming and the game today did not have good odds in our favor. Me and my roommate Kristin watched the homecoming parade right outside of our apartment complex and when it ended we wondered where the football team was. Normally they are in the parade. We joked around about how they were probably running sprints or something. When we got home Diane gave the suggestion that it was probably for their own safety with the way we've been playing. She was probably right. But good news, WE WON!! We have finally broken our losing streak. I think it was because they were wearing pink; it's good karma. So the curse is broken!!

"It Happens Every Time " - Dream Street

This last weekend I decided to surprise Kaleen and Meghan and go home for the weekend! I took Rachel with me and we had the best time. Singing our hearts desire, pretending that we were actually riding rides at Disneyland, quoting our favorite youtube videos, and that was just the car ride!

We got to see Kaleen dance at the homecoming assembly and football and she did great! We spent a lot of the weekend playing Wii and hanging out. We got to ride in a limo, went to the mall, got frozen yogurt and we got to go to the temple as a whole family!! I'm so glad I got to go home! Rachel made the comment that the times we laugh the hardest is when we are in my kitchen. I don't know how that happens but it's true! So many good memories. Thanks mom and dad for letting me come down! I hope the girlies had fun too.

"Sing Forth With Joy" - BYU University Chorale

I would just like everyone to share in the same joy as I am. I got a 100% on my Anatomy test today. I walked down those stairs, looked up at the tv screen and saw 100%, Perfect Score! I could hardly contain my happiness and I had to keep myself from yelling out YES! There's no greater feeling to know that all those hours of studying actually paid off.

I'm still smiling. :)

"Bad Romance" - Lady GaGa

Today Rachel and I stopped by Dallin's apartment to get the car keys. I knocked on the door and his roommate said to come in. I asked if Dallin was there and another roommate walked out and yelled.

Roommate- "Dallin there are two hot girls here."
Dallin walked out and said, "That would be my sister."
Roommate - "Oh well there's a hot girl here."
Dallin - "And the other one is my cousin."

I don't know why I love that so much. Also as Dallin reminded me today, Happy One Year Anniversary coming home from Guatemala!

"Day of Rest" - Paul Cardall

These last 24 hours have been pretty awesome, well minus the fact that BYU lost to Air Force yesterday but I'll try to dwell on that. This weekend was a Stake/Regional conference. Last night was stake conference and our stake president had his mission president come and speak to us. He is like 93 and was totally hilarious. And the super cool part? He brought the only Book of Mormon that has ever been in space! It was his and he brought it to show us and it was totally awesome.

This morning was a regional conference that they broadcasted from the Marriot Center. I didn't know until they showed up, but President Packer and Elder Holland were in attendance today. After they came in and everyone sat down, the audience started talking a little bit and then all of a sudden Elder Holland stood up at the podium and told us that we needed to be quiet because the meeting started with President Packer walked in. Woo the place went quiet really fast. Steven E. Snow and Julie B. Beck also talked and it was really good! Then President Packer stood up. Let me just say that I have never seen President Packer that funny. He was cracking jokes like I've never seen. It was nice to see him out of his General Conference seriousness.

Tonight we had a CES Fireside and Elder Richard G. Scott talked. It was something that I had never seen before. He got up to start talking and then all of a sudden he just walked away from the podium and off to the side there was this couple sitting there and he started interviewing them. It was so sweet to hear him talk about his wife and children that had passed away. I had no idea about his children but he gave a really good talk about marriage.

So needless to say I'm getting pretty excited. I feel like I just experienced it this weekend after hearing 3 apostles and others but I'm looking forward to hear what they have to say next.
