Dearest friends. I am behind on my blogging-ness. If you want to hear about anything in particular of my life leave a comment. Or give me a topic and maybe I'll be inspired. So probably the biggest thing I've missed in blogging is about mother's day because we all know that mom's are the best. And we would not be here without them.
You know I have a pretty unique family. I used to think it was so normal, being friends with not only my siblings but my cousins as well. The more time I spent at school the more I learned how special my family is. I'm reminded of this when Rachel and I say that we're living together and that we are cousins - most people are really surprised. I've only come to appreciate and love my family more because of this fact.
Well this last weekend was Memorial Day, in case anyone forgot, and there was the traditional Olsen Family Reunion. Grandma was saying that we have been doing this for 50 years. 50 YEARS! How awesome is that people? And they calculated that there are probably 300 decedents from my Great Grandparents Olsen. Isn't family just the best?
I got to spend the day visiting the cemeteries and Wallsburg, which I am totally in love with. There is just something so special about that place. I only have memories of being there in the summer but the green just gets to me. I also spent most of the day saying "I love my family.", "My family is the best." And I seriously mean that. This family is the most AMAZING family.
So onto thoughts about mothers. I love my mom. My mom is like my best friend. Sometimes I have a hard time sharing her though. She does so much not only for my family but for the church. Having her at all of my YW activities growing up was great but it was hard to have to share with her with the other YW. But it just shows how loving she is. How much service she provides. Putting the gospel first. She's the best.
Now my mom has some pretty awesome sisters. Man what would I do without aunts to spoil me and take care of me when my mom isn't there? I just love them so much! And the more I think of how amazing they are I think of the one thing they all have in common: the same mom who taught them to be who they are.
Grandma is seriously like the best thing ever. When I tell people about how awesome my grandma is they are all like seriously? She is so cool! I know :) I probably haven't been the most gracious granddaughter to walk this earth but I do appreciate everything that she's done for me. I can probably never thank her enough. Thank you grandma for raising such amazing kids that have become amazing parents. Thanks for all of the reunions that allow us to get together and spend time with each other.
I love my family. I have the best family.
