"Amazing" - Bruno Mars

I can't stop smiling.

I'm in the library to study until the wee hours of the morning but I fear I will not be able to concentrate until I share a little story with you.

Today is Wednesday which means four things.
Classes are done.
My birthday is in one week.
Tomorrow I'm going to Tucano's.

And the last one, which is most important because of the story I am about to share, tonight was my choir concert.

To be honest I wasn't really looking forward to my concert. I just wanted to get it over with so I could move on with studying for finals.

Well that changed tonight. I have never been so happy to sing before in my life. Well maybe that's not true but at least in a long time.

I was getting myself all pumped up backstage and everyone else in my section and then they shout go and we walk out on stage. We were in the DeJong.

I look and immediately see Uncle Curt and Aunt Mitzi and then proceed down the row to see my roommates.

They started waving their hands and pointing and Diane was trying to sign something to me. I just stood there confused. Then Diane tried to fingerspell something and I didn't get it. Then she finally did something that made me look in the row behind her.

President Uchtdorf was sitting there.
Right. Behind. My. Roommates.

So I quietly passed the word along to my fellow choir members and we stood there all smiles.

We sang our little hearts off and then exited stage left so the next choir could come on. We saw President Ucthdorf stand up to leave and we were all sad.

You would think that's where the story ends right?
Wrong.

Then I started to walk out the door and guess who is leaving right in front of me and then turns around to come back and talk to me?
I'm sure you already know the answer.

Me and the girl that I stand next to in choir just stood there.
We thanked him for coming and he told us that we were a fabulous choir and that we sounded great.
Then he walked away.

Then the girl and I started high-fiving each other and literally jumping around.
Half the choir still didn't know that he was there.

We later found out that his grandsons are in my choir.

I can't stop smiling. I was like inches away from President Uchtdorf and now I have all this energy and joy.
I now have this drive to study and kick butt on finals.
He truly has the spirit with him. I would like to think that some of that rubbed off on me.

Oh life is good. The gospel is true. Don't ever forget it.

Also President Uchtdorf is shorter in person :)
